How does orthodontics work?
Orthodontics is a long-term investment in yourself and in your smile. By straightening and realigning your teeth and addressing any issues with your bite, you can achieve a smile that is not only more aesthetic, but is strong, healthy and functional.
Orthodontics can address lots of your smile concerns:
- Small gaps between your teeth
- One or more teeth that are crooked
- Teeth that are crowded together
- Teeth that aren’t quite straight
- Teeth in your upper and lower jaws that don’t match up
What can you expect from braces?
Though many adults are put off choosing orthodontics by the thought of braces, the reality is that teeth straightening with braces is now more comfortable, faster and more discreet than you may be expecting.
At FY Smile, we offer clear lingual braces. This type of orthodontic treatment not only uses brackets and wires which are white and clear, so much less visible, but also attaches the brackets onto the back of your teeth – instead of the front. This makes it a much more discreet option than traditional metal braces.
First of all, we will take scans, photos and x-rays of your teeth. We’ll also work with you to understand your smile concerns and what you would like to achieve from your treatment.
Then, we use this information to plan your orthodontic treatment digitally before we begin. This way, you know what to expect and when.
We will fit your braces on your teeth, and you will have regular visits for us to monitor your treatment and guide your teeth into their new position.
What are the benefits of orthodontics?
- Orthodontics is a long-term investment in a healthy, confident smile. It can address lots of little concerns you might have about your teeth and start making you feel great about your smile.
- Orthodontics is a less invasive option than other treatments such as porcelain veneers, as it doesn’t affect your healthy tooth structure.
- Straighter teeth are easier to clean, which keeps them healthy for longer and could reduce your chances of developing periodontal problems.
